Day 2 of 10

Yesterday was my Day 2, but we ended up helping some great friends move into their new home, and it was too late when we got home to sit down and blog.  So, here is my second blog of my personal challenge.

Working out was done first thing when I woke up.  I joined TJ for his P90X KenpoX workout.  I did about 75% of the dvd and I sure felt it!  For the past 2 months TJ has been doing P90X and I am so proud of him.  He started muting Mr. Tony Horton's voice and began listening to the bible on cd while doing the workout.  Yesterday we listened to Proverbs as we worked out and ate breakfast.  It's amazing the scriptures impact when listening vs. reading.  I also had a very great photography job scheduled during the workout too.  Thumbs up for my Friday morning beginnings!

Here is a little video of my KenpoX.

My breakfast: Oatmeal & Strawberries

Later on in the day, I met my mom, my sister in-law, and her mom, at Big Daddy's for lunch.  It was a super yummy meal and great company.
This was a great Western Burger w/ onion strings, monterrey jack cheese, and bbq sauce with a side of sweet potato fries! Mmmmm.  Mom and I actually split this burger.

Me & my Momma

Mallory & her Momma

Thanks to my Momma for these adorable Owl salt & pepper shakers.  (It was an anniversary gift.)

Afterwards we went to the new coffee house, Rush Espresso, for a yummy cafe mocha.  For the month of March, all lattes are 50% off too, major perk!! :-)

See the faded heart on top? hehe

It was a fun afternoon!

I came home in the afternoon and edited video clips that I took of the day TJ and I spent in Wilmington earlier this week for our anniversary.  You can see that here!

TJ and I went to help some friends move into their new home.  They had pizza for us, so I made a salad at home and then had a couple slices of pizza from Carmella's.

Oh, and my water intake was about the same as yesterday, two nalgene's worth.  All in all - great Day 2!

Day 1 of 10

Day 1 has come to an end.  The eating part was easy, but the work out part was, um....lets just say I waited to the last minute of the day.  Not so much because I did not want to, but because I got caught up with some photo work and I watched a documentary this afternoon ("Who killed the Electric Car").  I ended up working out around 8pm.  On Netflix I found this 38 minute workout by "SELF".  It incorporated cardio, light weights, and plyo.  I did about 30 minutes of it. :-)  Small beginnings. haha.  Needless to say, I felt it and I know I will feel it tomorrow.

What I ate today

Whole Wheat Bagel, Strawberries, & Mandrin Oranges

Pasta w/ Pesto, Pizza, & Salad w/ Balsamic Vinegar

Soft Tacos w/ Black beans & Rice, & Strawberrys

To top it all off......Mint Chocolate Chip Icecream. :-)

How much water I drank (and a little video)
I drank about 72 ounces today.  I could have done better.  But, again, it was only Day 1.

All in all, I think Day 1 went well.  Here's to Day 2!

My 10 day challenge

Ok, so beginning tomorrow I am going to begin working out, eating 3 full meals a day, and taking care of myself better.  I am one of those people who typically skip breakfast, but I have been reading lately about all the health benefits of starting out the day with a morning meal.  (I will post these benefits soon).

Here is my public pledge.

For 10 days I am going to post daily...
  • photos of my meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
  • explain my my workout for the day
  • keep track of the ounces I drink in water.
Why am I doing this?  I want to feel healthy, energized, and live long. Why else? :-)  I am also going to Ireland in May, and I want to be in great shape.

Why 10 days?  I am starting with a small goal that seems doable.  Too many times I quit before I begin because it seems TOO big.  Ten days feels good and by blogging about it daily, it will keep me motivated.

Here's to tomorrow.  Cheers!

Happy Anniversary to Us

Here is a glimpse into our anniversary adventures. We left North Myrtle Beach and first headed to Southport, NC. A super cute and quaint little beach town. Population 2500.

While in Port City Java, I began talking to a local and was informed of a tv show being filmed down the block. Being curious, we headed to the site to see what was up. Ends up they were filming a new pilot for ABC called Revenge.

It was pretty neat to watch for a bit. Felt like we found a hidden treasure today. :-)

After Southport, we headed up the Cape Fear coast to Wilmington, one of my favorite places. I will also admit that I have fun going there because one of my favorite tv shows, One Tree Hill ( seasons 1-6 only) is filmed there.

Looking out over the Cape Fear.

An awesome key fence along the street.

Dining at the Front Street Brewery. Mmmm.

Me in front of 'Clothes Over Bros'. A location from One Tree Hill.

Taking a coffee shop break.

A great scenic restaurant along the River.

Downtown Wilmington behind us.

The "River Court", as seen on One Tree Hill.

I have more photos and even a video I am going to put together of our day. It was a fun and relaxing day with my hubby.

Cheers!

TJ & Rebekah Growing Up

For our wedding, my cousin Jared made a really great photo slideshow of Tj & I both growing up, becoming friends, and then dating.  I love it!  After several hours of frustration on how to actually convert the dvd to a file that would be viewable online, I finally got it to work. (Thanks to Paul Olson & Samuel Gatlyn...gotta love the video tech guys)

So here it is!  Enjoy...and leave me some comments, I'd love to hear from you. :-)

Maui = Honeymoon Pt. 2

Today is a kiss from heaven with this fabulous weather we have!  It is Friday afternoon, I'm wearing shorts, Zoe's got her summer cut, I had lunch with my momma, the windows are open, Tj is enjoying an afternoon with one of his friends, and I am blogging.  Happy Friday!

Yesterday i posted about our honeymoon in Maui along with photos.  There were so many photos I loved and wanted to share, so I decided to post the second half of photos today.  Enjoy!

We had the most amazing homemade Chinese food on the side of the road on our way through the road to Hana.  It was SOOO good!
 The Bamboo Forest!
The view from our room!
